QCi

As a first-to-market nanophotonic-based quantum technology company, Quantum Computing Inc. publishes a monthly newsletter to share the latest announcements and news involving quantum technologies. looks back on National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and delves into QCi’s cybersecurity product offerings, as well as the efforts the company is taking to define its presence in the cybersecurity sector.

It’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

Cybersecurity is emerging as a high-level issue, driven not only by the progress in quantum technology but also due to the recent decision by the SEC regarding the disclosure obligations of publicly traded firms. This new regulation requires that all companies listed on U.S. exchanges must disclose significant cyber incidents, indicating a big step forward in stressing cybersecurity as a board-level concern that must be addressed. National Cybersecurity Awareness Month offers a valuable opportunity to contemplate the current state and future direction of the cybersecurity industry.

In light of the expanding presence of advanced technologies like quantum computing and artificial intelligence, it is essential to understand how these innovations can help play a role in addressing and resolving the challenges posed by cybersecurity threats.

Press Alert: QCi in the Media

Quantum Computing Inc.  was recently featured in a Forbes article titled “Spooky Cyber Statistics and Trends you Need to Know.”

The article highlights QCi’s quantum photonics technology solutions, demonstrating our capacity to substitute traditional computing with entropy quantum computing, thereby improving critical resources for a variety of cryptographic operations.

QCi’s Cybersecurity Capabilities

Quantum Key Exchange/Distribution (QKD)

dQKD is QCi’s high dimensional quantum key distribution protocol. dQKD is an entanglement-based quantum key exchange method which uses multi-dimensional quantum keys and can be easily integrated with existing telecommunications networks. d-QKD has the added benefit of not requiring quantum error correction.

Quantum Authentication

Our qAP is quantum authentication protocol that utilizes zero-knowledge proofs. Using pre-shared symmetric keys, qAp-0 enables authentication between communicating parties without revealing full or partial keys to the possibility-not-trustworthy third parties while eliminating the need for complex computation.

Quantum Physical Unclonable Functions (PUF) Chips

Our quantum authentication protocol utilizes physical unclonable chips. qAP-PUF provides a means to verify device integrity thereby ensuring the authenticity of transmitted information. Security, in our case, is enabled by the infeasibility of cloning PUFs, quantum superposition, and quantum entanglement properties.

From the Lab to Practical Application

Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG)

Our QRNG is photonic based, where we harvest the time-energy degree of freedom of photons. Single photon before detection is in superposition time modes, which means it is not possible to predict which state the single photon will collapse into. By measuring the stochastic arrival time of single photons, we obtain true randomness from this quantum process.

At Quantum World Congress, our engineers showcased how QCi’s QRNG generates true random numbers in real-time. Generating these random keys is ideal for cryptographic protocols, equitable selection and distribution within blockchain, and unbiased randomness in simulations.

Quantum Photonic Detection and Ranging Variant 3 (VX3)

QI Solutions (QIS), a subsidiary of Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) conducted a field validation of its Quantum Photonic Detection and Ranging Variant 3 (VX3) unexploded ordnance detection sensor at Oklahoma State University’s Center for Fire and Explosives, Forensic Investigation, Training and Research (CENFEX) range in Pawnee, Oklahoma.

The validation of Quantum Photonic Detection and Ranging (QpDAR) VX3  demonstrated the ability of the VX3 sensor to harness Quantum Single Photon Detection (QSPD) to detect landmines and unexploded ordnances (UXOs) from surface level to depths up to 30-inches

Did You See Us at an Event?

Quantum World Congress

Executives and lead engineers from QCi attended Quantum World Congress in Washington, D.C. There, they networked with researchers, innovators, tech developers, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the quantum industry’s development, trajectory, and timeline. At the event, our team presented live demonstrations of our technologies, including the reservoir computer, photonic vibrometer, and quantum random number generator.

NACD Summit

Robert Liscouski, President and CEO of QCi, attended the NACDSummit this month, accompanied by Derrick Sturisky, Senior Director at QCi. At the event, Bob gave a presentation to directors and provided them with key questions they should be asking as the organizations they oversee navigate the emerging quantum landscape. Bob emphasized that organizations, in both the public and private sector, should be exploring the risks and opportunities that quantum provides.

NYC Quantum Summit 2023

Milan Begliarbekov, Director of Quantum Foundry at QCi, gave a presentation on “Optical Architectures for High Performance Computing” at the NYC Quantum Summit 2023 this month. The summit centered around discussions on near-term and long-term opportunities in quantum computation and communication. Taking part in these discussions and sharing our insights was a valuable experience and we appreciated the opportunity to discuss our technology.
